I was considering K9, so good to hear a couple of votes for that.
Open DNS: Can I allow full access on some computers (ie mine and the wife)? I don't want to restrict everything, just a couple computers.
TopJimmyCooks:
My kids want to watch user made minecraft related videos on youtube. Most of the time they're fine but they're made by teenagers and you can go along for a while and then catch an F-bomb. Youtube safe mode does a good job with pron and violent stuff but misses these gaming related things a lot.
Dawgz Rule:
OpenDNS is not client side so it can be set up for anything accessing within your home. That being said, not much it will do outside of the home.

it's pretty good, parent settable, and free.

Seconded on k9. My son HATES that I have this up and running on his computer. I've caught him a couple times trying to figure out what the password is that I used for it.

Third. I use K9 for my sons' PCs. Works great. They've been on the net about a year now with K9 and no issues of which I am aware.

Fourth. I put it on my oldest daughters laptop, it works really well. It's very configurable, you can easily set how much filtering / protection it applies. It's worth noting that most of the products out there have searchable workarounds so trust and responsibility still go hand in hand with whatever solution you choose. My daughter is happy to have it on her laptop, it means she can do any searches without worring about stumbling on nasties.
