Okay, here's another one of my pet peeves that I was reminded of by the X-Arcade stick posted above... having all buttons the same color.  Am I alone in that?

Believe it or not, I'm not actually ranting, I'm genuinely curious... isn't that confusing?  I mean I know after a while you kind of get into a pattern with certain games, but especially when you're playing games where the buttons are in a different place than they were on the original control panel, isn't it a bit difficult to remember which button does what?  Maybe it's just me.

It's confusing every time someone other than myself plays and needs instructions.  It's far easier to yell "use the red button" or whatever from across the room.  Otherwise, I think it's important your buttons fit whatever color scheme you got goin' on.

That I even drew that up in 45 seconds was more than I usually do when responding to these posts.
Yeah, imagine everything nicely spaced and symmetrical.  I guess the X-Arcade beat me to it.  That's how I got started in this hobby BTW.

Well Im trying not to have to redo the whole cp. I really wanted to go with 7 buttons but I ended up with going with 6. I wanted to try to keep the track ball in the middle and have enough room under the joystick, buttons and trackball. I moved the buttons in on one side and the joystick in on the other. Now I have enough room. I guess down the road I can change it and build a new cp with my flight stick too. Now I just need to come up with a name theme and color scheme.

My CP is 24"x12". The trackball is a 3" and those are Magstik Plus joysticks. I think you would have enough space to add another button to this layout if needed. I don't have any issues with wrist space or anything like that.

See my original panel below. It's only 25" and has a 3" trackball. You basically have an extra 3.5" to work with (and definitely more depth).

Some tips:

* Basically, the button bezels can overlap the TB mounting plate. That gives you a little extra space.
* The buttons can pretty much be right next to the joystick base without issue, again the button's bezel can overlap.
* The joystick plates are oriented vertically (you can rotate the PCB if using something like the U360, otherwise just wire appropriately.)
Simply put, you have more than enough space.
