Recroommasters Virtual Pinball
« on: February 26, 2019, 03:52:14 pm »
Greetings, i'm looking to do the Recroommasters DIY 40" virtual pinball cabinet. It's received pretty nice reviews and looks like a cost effective way to play all my favorite classic VP tables (i.e. VPX, Pinball FX3, Future Pinball, etc.). I'm just trying to figure out two things. 1. How many buttons I will need to add to the front panel and sides and 2. The cheapest/easiest way to light up (and remain lit) some admin buttons.

https://www.recroommasters.com/40-Virtual-Pinball-Machine-p/rm-xt-40-pin-cab.htm

For admin buttons I was thinking:
-Plunger
-Launch Button
-Coin
-Start
-View (to change views while playing FX3)
-Exit
-(three buttons on side .... 1 for flipper, 1 for nudge and 1 for magna save).
-Up arrow button and DOWN arrow button (to help me navigate easier through Pinball FX3 grid).
-Front nudge button???? Not sure if i'd really need this one??

I wonder if I am missing any button or if i'm doing too much. The DIY front panel only comes with cut outs for 3 buttons on front, the plunger and cutouts for 2 buttons on the side, so i'll obviously have to add a few with my drill.  The metal door takes up a lot of room on the front DIY panel so i'll have to work around it.

I was thinking of just using an IPAC2 and doing a microswitch plunger setup.  But not sure what the best way would be to light up admin buttons (to just remain lit).

Any feedback or suggestions is greatly appreciated.  Thanks

Malenko

HOLY ---fudgesicle---.

$700 for an empty cab?
If you're replying to a troll you are part of the problem.
I also need to follow this advice. Ignore or report, don't reply.

Am I crazy or is that like $200 worth of material?

Sheet, they don't even throw in the locking metal door (Mind you as it's not even a coin door no great loss)

Thanks for your feedback. If you can direct me to a cheaper and better DIY option, I am open. This is just the best/cheapest option that I could find for someone who doesn't have the skill set/tools or time to build their own from scratch.

i guess i didn't like the idea of having plexiglass . but it is a very affordable option
many struggled to get a 40" 4k tv in there too.
