It is definitely unique. No worries though, Singer treadle machines are pretty cheap and they sold tens of thousands of them so there are lots still out there in all kinds of condition. Searching Ebay completed auctions there are a bunch of two drawer setups like the one in the Craigslist ad that sold for under $30... Makes me think about making one... |

There's a pub here in Torino (NW Italy) in which all the tables are made from these sewing machines with a marble plank on the top... they are pretty common, I have one stored the basement. |
