String Method Not perfect but it worked well enough

So I've hit a wall pretty early. The problem is MDF splitting. I made little strips of extra MDF to connect the cabinet together. I even drill a small hole first but the woo keeps splitting. Any advice.

wanna post a pic,  then we can help better.
Im guessing some battons will help though?

GregD:

MDF should not be screwed into from the ends.  It just always splits or mushrooms because the material is so dense.  I would get some softwood and use that to make batons.  This is a much better method for assembling an MDF cabinet.  Personally, I really hate MDF but it seems to be what everyone around here uses.  Good luck!
