Geez. 30 years. No wonder why Rolling Robotron the other day on Difficulty 10 was such a chore. I'm going to need to play with a cane soon and use pause so I can have multiple naps in between these sessions. ;) BTW. Who's that guy to the right of the other guy in the above pic. Kidding. He's the evil mastermind behind Robotron who coded the best arcade game in history IMHO. :notworthy: Eugene Jarvis Shake his hand for all of his fans and thank him for the 30+ years of extreme fun he has bestowed upon us. |

The day you have trouble rolling robotron on difficulty 10 is the day we should all turn in our driver licenses. :) You are an inspiration to all of us around the world who aspire to be good at the game. :) This might be the last update before tomorrow's kick-off party at Star Worlds tomorrow. Summary- 1-Eugene Jarvis still on schedule and he's working on his own special project for the party. Which would take it over the top and make this the "I can't believe I missed that party" event of the year. 2-A few tickets are still for sale but the event is very close to sold out. Meaning physical space in the building is limited. Star Worlds is a small arcade environment like going straight to a cool 80s arcade museum, not an impersonal warehouse or strip mall setting. 3-Twin Galaxies has a formal presentation to Eugene. And Walter is bringing some unique stuff that will only be available 1 time at this party. 4- There will be many games, pinball and tournaments, food and prizes. 2 Robotron machines, a rare model of Smash TV, Tut, etc etc etc. 5- we may stream the event live on twitch TV, if we can figure out how that works.... 6- email patrick@starworldsarcade.com for more info, tickets, driving directions, or hotel recommendations. |

Will upload more pictures and video later (hotel wireless isn’t cooperating…) Here is a quick picture preview of the evening. Honorable mention- Larry De Mar had to change plans for the weekend and didn’t make the party, but he was involved in a phone call during the party and will visit Star Worlds at a later date. (Yep, this event was almost a “Vid Kidz” reunion, if Eugene’s plans had worked out… sooooo cool.) Eugene played a lot of Robotron with party goers and he is wickedly good. Video to come later. The evening was a success as everyone relaxed and played some great games in a classic 1982 arcade setting. Many magical little moments all evening throughout the arcade. Was an honor and pleasure, the Summer Camp was kicked-off on the right foot for sure. Taking on the Boss- but which one would that be- SmashTVConquered (Eugene around 17m, Sasha around 14m and she’d never played it before!) Mario Bros sharing the fun- Eugene playing doubles- Mikey showed up for some pasta- Eugene receiving Twin Galaxies presentations- AwardToVidKidz- |

As part of the ongoing Summer Camp 2012 events, Star Worlds arcade presents- Lonnie McDonald’s Joust tour playing in the original location where Twin Galaxies operated in Ottumwa Iowa. Making an attempt to beat a Joust World Record, too. A video game event hasn’t occurred at the original site of Twin Galaxies since the 80’s, so this should be a fun little home-coming. And just in time to celebrate the 30th Anniversary of the Joust release in 1982! If you are near Ottumwa, stop by after 8am central on Saturday, July 14th. Live streaming should be available at- lmcdonald111 If you don’t know about Twin Galaxies, this video will give you an example of the excitement generated inside that location during the early 80s- |
