funny enough, that was the first one i drew, look at all the erasing on that paper!

thanks for the feedback guys.

btw, love the switchcade!  i was just thinking of a panel that pulls apart like a dining room table and there you go, someone beat me to it ;)

I like 1 best, my only criticism is the curve at the top near the Marquee, doesn't seem to fit with all the sharp angles.

didnt even notice that, good catch.  here are some refined sketches.  for the angles, i tried to keep the lines even with the marquee, back of the machine and also the slant of the panel.

for some reason, the center design, those angles remind me of star trek, hence the logo on the side.  if i did go with that design, the logo would be back lit of course :)

anyone have any recommendations on how to go about lighting up those edges?  if those side pieces are flat against the recessed side pieces, i can't really backlight the edges from inside.  i was thinking LED light strips but they don't project even light the way a neon tube does.

open to suggestions and thanks!

I say go with the LED strips. Pretty pleased with how mine turned out. Here's a video of a recent test...

I would route the back side edge of the outer panel with a straight bit a ways to be able to hide the LED strips on the back side of the panel.
