How does this sound for a Automated Joystick Setup?(Updated)

(1/3) > >>

ArcadeSeeker962:
I haven't bought my automated Joystick setup yet, but I want to make sure I have everything I need for when that stage comes in my project. I'm saving my money up for all of the parts(for both the control panel and the automated controls). From reading the threads made by darthpaul, here's what I'm going to buy for my 2-player automated Joystick setup:

Joystick: 2 Omni 2 Switchable 4/8 Joysticks
Interface: I-Pac 2

Other parts needed for the project:

5V 2A Adapter: http://www.amazon.com/2000mA-Regulated-Power-Supply-1-35mm/dp/B005CVNH1Q/ref=sr_1_12?ie=UTF8&qid=1336869479&sr=8-12

1/16 x 1/2 Aluminum Bar Stock:  http://www.amazon.com/Boltmaster-Aluminum-Flat-Bar-16/dp/B000UGF2FW/ref=sr_1_1?s=home-garden&ie=UTF8&qid=1336869887&sr=1-1

2 Servo's:

1 USB cord:

#4 Machine Screws:

#4 Lock Nuts

If I'm missing anything else for this setup, let me know. I know that the 1/16 x 1/2 aluminum bar stock comes in bulk, so if anyone could link me to an online store that's selling them for a better price, feel free to post the link.

TopJimmyCooks:
Should only need 1 servo controller - 6 channel controls up to 6 different servo's.

darthpaul:
Very small screws and lock nuts #4 machine screws, I couldn't find any lock nuts in that size at Home Depot, so I just used a little hot glue to keep the nut from loosening up. You need these to attach the aluminum bar stock to the Servo horn and Joystick lever.

Here's what I found for screws and lock nuts:
http://www.amazon.com/Stainless-Steel-Machine-Phillips-Length/dp/B003R7JE32/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1336926729&sr=8-1

According to Amazon, it says you can order them as small as #4, so do these qualify? Also, is the horn of the servo the knob on top of the servo, or is the horn of the servo those small gold-colored objects that resemble screws on that come with the servo's?

EDIT: Never mind, I found out what the servo horns are, all I need to do is figure out if the screws and lock nuts I found would work okay with the project...

darthpaul:
Those screws should work, but they don't need to be stainless steel which is more expensive. You will have to enlarge the holes in the servo horn and drill holes in yours aluminum flat stock and the joystick lever.
