Glaunch Newbie questions about Mame config

Hey Guys,
I managed to get Glaunch to run games now, but I am having problems with the  scanline option in
my mame config under the global options i have

-scanlines

but nothing is seen??

also if i put   -scanlines -stereo

I get a parssing error? same with -sound 1

what I want is the global options to:
run full screen
with complete scanlines so it looks close to a real arcade game
sound on
and sound in stereo

Can anyone assist me?
