GGG Electric ICE 2 colors?
bullrees:
I bought the buttons and the RGB diodes expecting to use red for one player and blue or green for the other. I had looked at these illuminated buttons many times on the GGG site and thought there looked great. They always seemed to be sold out so when I caught them in stock I ordered 12 for a 6 button each, two player control panel. (Also had to talk up the wife about why I had to spend the ~80 bucks "right now !!!" because this is what I really wanted)
No matter what color combination I try the colors seem to be.... well like Easter egg color. Not so much electric but maybe more ice. No matter what power source I use the red just looks pink.
I have tried the 5v and ground from a couple computer PSU's and even just a 9 volt battery (understandably not recommended) but red is still pink and blue is Easter egg blue.
Good news is after I HAD TO HAVE them....My wife didn't complain when I told her I didn't like them.
Am I doing something wrong or did I just not understand what the final color would be?

What program are you using to light them? Although I am using the original buttons, my reds do look fairly red (i.e. not pink). I used Arzoo's LEDBlinky program and it does have some utilities to set the intensity of Red, Green and Blue. Basically my Red is set to 255 R and 0 G and B.

It sounds to me like he's not using any program to control them, but rather is hardwiring them to light a certain color? If that's the case then they should be "full on" and as bright as they're gonna get.

So you ALWAYS want each of the buttons to always be a certain color? If so, there's no need to get the RGB setups (assuming you can find an LED in the color you want). Just get some red LEDs or blue or whatever. I'm eventually rebuilding my control panel, and both player buttons will be blue LEDs in blue translucent buttons. I got my own blue LEDs off of ebay and wired them up with current limiting resistors myself.

I was just looking at RGB Pushbuttons and still having trouble figuring out what to get, how are these? One obvious problem is that they always seem to be sold out...
The only reviews I was able to see really were comparing pushbuttons from paradise with these and the long thread between the two owners sniping each other. Those weren't RGB's though.
One of my primary concerns is the circle from the LED showing up at the top of the bottom and not diffusing out.
While I am at it, joysticks and trackballs, the Jammaboards USB blue trackball for $60 is sold out and all thats left are the $80 ones. I am going to replace the ball with a translucent one anyways so I want the cheapest one possible anyone know where that would be? I want a ball top 8-way joystick but I have no idea what to get...
So many choices now a days... someone help...

Yes, now that I reread it, doesn't look like he mentioned he was using an LEDwiz or similar either. Me and my assumptions... :dunno
Question: How does the LED look outside of the button? Is it full-on bright or does it still look faded?
