GroovyMame - Neotec NT500DX monitor settings
« on: May 03, 2012, 07:04:43 pm »
Sorry if this is obvious/has been answered.  I installed Linux Groovyarcade with advancemame front end.  Where do I specify my monitor settings?  I can see the boot screen but as soon as it loads my monitor displays 'Out of Range'

I have this monitor in a silverstrike cabinet (http://www.arcade-museum.com/manuals-monitors/Neotec%20NT-500DX.pdf

I have it connected via VGA so I assume the resolution should be 640x480.  I set this in the mame.ini (everyplace i read 'resolution') with no luck.

thanks in advance!

Hi JHGould5607,

Sorry for the late answer. This monitor is a tri-sync one, you may try your luck with the preset settings for WG D9800. There's a menu in the live-cd gasetup labelled "Video setup", where you can specify this setting. You must not force any resolution mame.ini, GroovyMAME will pick the right resolution depending on your monitor setup.

Hope it helps.
Important note: posts reporting GM issues without a log will be IGNORED.
Steps to create a log:
 - From command line, run: groovymame.exe -v romname >romname.txt
 - Attach resulting romname.txt file to your post, instead of pasting it.
