I found the PC I want to use, now I just have a few questions to ask
ArcadeSeeker962:
I found out what PC I'd want to use, it's the HP Compaq DC5000 with a Pentium 4 processor. On my previous thread, I read that an ATI video card is recommended for installation.
1) What ATI video card is recommended for installation inside of an HP Compaq DC5000?
2). What version of Windows would you recommend for installation on the PC?
3). Would an LCD Monitor be compatible with this type of computer?
eds1275:
1) any that fits the slot you have [agp or pci]
2) Windows XP would be my first choice
3) yes
Justin Z:
Agree with all of these, with #2 including "TinyXP, if you can find it, would be even better."
MTPPC:
You only need the ATI video card if you want to run soft15khz to ouput to a CGA arcade monitor. You can use onboard graphics for 95% of the games that work in MAME. You'll only need that video card if you want to run hyperspin with maximum eye candy. I'd try the PC's onboard graphics first and then add a video card only if you need it. Less parts means less to go wrong.

Definitely a good point. I personally prefer the smooth look of a LCD monitor. You can always try the scanline option if you really wannit.
