Okay, I am currently working on my first cab, so far, I have a multiboard installed and am really enjoying, next on my agenda is to add artwork and a new lcd monitor from here, over the weekend, I rediscovered my SNES in a closet with all of my games, controllers and composite cable, is there anyway to convert the composite cable to either CGA or VGA?

knohbody:

The SNES can output RGB. http://gamesx.com/wiki/doku.php?id=av:nintendomultiav should have all the info you need if you want to wire it directly. Easiest way would be to find a rgb scart cable.
I think the SNES 2 (newer, smaller version) doesn't do RGB, but there's a mod linked to on the bottom of the gamesx link above.
VGA is possible with a converter, but you'll still need the RGB mod.

I have the original version, so could I just get a composite vga converter?

Justin Z:

The thing about using a composite cable and converting that signal is that it is going to look like hell.  So if you can avoid it, do so.

BurgerKingDiamond:

you can't convert composite to RGB.

you need to get a SCART cable. You can hack that to work with your arcade monitor or you can buy this
