is there a way to have aos auto start in dos without  starting windoze? but I have win95 on this pc and want to leave it on it.

Make a boot floppy and have your computer boot from that.  Then you don't have to change a thing on your hard drive.  Just eject the disk whenever you want to boot to windows.

Make the last two lines in your autoexec.bat file look like this

cd c:\arcadeos
arcadeos

then arcadeos will launch on startup. if you exit arcadeos, then win95 will launch. When you're testing stuff, put the line

pause

infront of the cd line. Then your computer will wait before it launches AOS. You can use ctrl-c to break the batch file at that point to edit things.
