pros/cons of dropping cable TV service

If you're into sports though, and more than just local sports, you're pretty much stuck buying some type of package whether it's online or through cable/dish.  My experience has been that the packages through cable/dish cost more, contain similar amounts but are far more useable in their packaging than online.  As my wife's family is from Laos they are big on soccer so I like to have lots of soccer channels available when they come over.

Can you just turn it on for the (I'm guessing?) couple times a year they're visiting?  A couple $40 bills from the cable company are better than twelve of them!

Instalation Fee makes this an unatractive option.

Flying halfway around the world to watch soccer on a relative's TV seems...inefficient.

Vigo:
Doesn't the Roku box have soccer? That would be a cheaper route.

Haha, I am guessing they are not in Laos anymore.
