I was asked to make the artwork available. Unfortunately, the side art is a huge (200+ MB) so I can't upload that. But its just the official X-Men Children of the Atom side art, upscaled to 1,90m.

Now that I spend many hours on this Cab, there are a few things that I learned, don't like, or that started breaking down:

- The Sanwa JLW sticks are way to stiff. One being noticeably stiffer than the other. I much prefer the Seimitsu LS-58 stick that is in my NES bartop.
- Having the Player 1 Start button also function as a Shift button when held down, sucks. Whenever, kids play on the machine they always end up accidentally pressing the exit or pause key combo. Sometimes they even manage to toggle my alternate key mappings, making the current active game unplayable. Now I know exactly what does what, so I never encounter these issues. However, guests do so I need to fix and explain the issue.
- Big game lists also suck. Yes I know everybody always tells you this, but I had to find out for myself ;)
- The carbon fiber wrap looks good, but its starting to let go :(
- Plexi glass scratches extremely easy
- One of my balltops came loose from the metal thread that holds it in place, and this is one of those expensive custom ones.
- I put 4 big wheels under the Cab. While its great that its easy to move now, its not so great that it might wobble slightly during intense play sessions.
- I really want a dedicated single player panel, as I play alone most of the time.

Most issues can be fixed, and I'll probably do just that during spring/summer. On the other hand, we have plans to move to a bigger house this year. If that happens, I would rather build me a second cab first  >:D

Why don't you fix the major issues with this cab, sell it and build a new one after you move? I'm considering doing this with mine in the future. There will always be lessons learned after your first build.

I love seeing post build follow up.  It's always cool to see what folks learned about their own builds after they've been used for a while.

Hi edekoning ,

I just wanted to say thanks for giving us your plans and art work. I have read through your build a few times and it is helping me a lot and the artwork supplied will save me heaps of time as I am not good with the graphics design side of thing.

Your cab looks great, If mine turns out half as good I'll be happy.

Cheers!

Hi,

Is your cpo.svg to scale?
When I open it in illustrator it is 836mm wide.
This seems too wide.

Also it has a link to "marque-bg.jpg" which is missing. I'm not sure if this is important - it seems to look fine without it.

Thanks

I used Inkscape v0.48. I just downloaded the file and opened it, and inkscape tells me the file is 70cm x 30cm, which is correct. Note that the actual control panel is smaller (67cm x 28cm), but the art includes some additional whitespace, so it was easier to use it as a template for cutting the panel.

It was for sale, so probably not.

I wish he would have taken the time to fix the artwork. That ruined it for me. Other than that, it’s nice.

Nice cabinet. I like the details on it. A shame OP was forced to sell it.

I've got huge gamelists, but favourites lists for different categories such as trackballs, fighters, and puzzles. Also a big generic one that I tell guests to use with most of the stuff they'll be after - tmnt, simpsons, pac man, etc. plus a few they've never heard of but should like The Outfoxies.

My cabinet is not for the purist. LCD widescreen, u360s, street fighter plus mk run button layout. Mine gets played to death. I occasionally build little projects on the side but I'm in it for the games

Now that I've finished my build, I just wanted to say thanks for all the info you provided in this thread. I've used your Sketchup model and adapted it to the measurements I needed. I loved your design because it's a pretty slim build like I wanted to make. And your attention to detail is great! Also the guidelines you provided for some stuff like routing were valuable to me as a novice wood worker.

Here's my build : http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php/topic,158194.0.html

Has anybody got this cabinet converted for CNC (.dxf or .dwg)?
