Possible Marquee Monitor
wp34:
Saw this at a Godfather's Pizza in Albert Lea Minnesota over the weekend. They had three of them screwed to the counter to display the menu and daily specials.

The outside measurements are 9.5h x 15w. While not perfect my first thought was that it might make a decent monitor to mount as a marquee.

I seen one at wally world today and I wanted to stop and look but you don't dare stop the flow of traffic in that store ya might wind up at the bottom of a stampede.
MacGyver:
16:9 would work well if you had a Dragon's Lair style marquee though. The only way I found to get one that was the correct size and ratio, was to have an avionics company cut an LCD down to the correct size, but it cost soooooo much money, it's never going to happen (for me anyway).
I looked at everything looking for a marquee monitor, the best so far is a nice 22" 4:1 that's a little small for what I want, and a 43" 4:1 that's too big.
There is a high priced 29" that might work as it's 17:6 aspect ratio, but it's still $660 (down from $1300).
Here is the post where the guy has a source for the 22", the 43" you'll have to look at an LG distributor.

22" 4:1 Marquee?
43" 4:1 LG Commercial (digital signage).
29" 17:6 LG Commercial
Cut laptop screen from an avionics company.
Ginsu Victim:
I don't see a 16:9 making a decent marquee.
MacGyver:
It can if you're super clever like RandyT. (Or have a big marquee like DLair or one of those golf games.)
