After trying all of the usual tricks to eliminate a spot on my Makvision monitor, I ended up purchasing one of these.  It is relatively inexpensive and worked like a champ.

Sorry to bump an insanely old topic, but I just bought this exact one and mines on the way.. Glad to know you yielded good results after using it. Hopefully I'll have the same success. I've tried the drill method in the past but I figured with the amount of CRTs i own.. it's worth it to get a decent degaussing tool. I've read that the sticks are dreadful (the cheap green things on ebay for 10 bucks), so i just sprung for the Waldom. Crossing my fingers, I'll post my results once I try it out.

I also think it's bizarre that around 1200 views and no one asked you for a before and after picture lol.

Dawgz Rule:
Funny, I should have thought to post some pics at the time.

Sarver Systems:
Before and After pics please?

Dawgz Rule:
Sorry, didn't think to take any at the time.  If I should get the opportunity again, I  will take a few pics.    Here is a couple of videos that seem to show what you are looking for with the specific coil mentioned:
