Why do you say that?  The off-angle on all my IPS displays is excellent.  Most TN displays I've seen are poor off-angle.  In fact the 23" I'm looking at right now has enough shift that I can see yellow on one edge of the monitor and blue on the other.

Apologies if this question is slightly off tangent.

I may be replacing my Sony CRT 25" for a 28" wide TFT due to weight issue. Would it be possible in screen resolution or somewhere else to set the screen to show 4:3 and centralize the image?  I don't have the computer setup to even check at the moment if this is even possible, it's running XP

On many widescreen monitors I have used, you can set the size of the screen to automatically fit to 4:3 and not display beyond that....that being said, you should also be able to do a similar affect through windows display settings on XP....

I was being sarcastic.  Give me IPS or PVA any day over the cheap widescreen TN panels that are commonplace now.
