cammada:

has anyone ever build custom icade or know which parts need to build an icade for ipad?

GregD:

Are you doing this for the challenge or to save money?  You can get Icades for like $60 new and much less used.

cammada:

challenge actually. the current icade look ugly to me and wishes to design better. after hours of research, i guess simple way would be to buy icade then strip off the cabinet and then fit with new design cabinet.

i am still not sure if new ion ICG04 iCade will work with iMame or iMame4all. I will jailbroke my ipad to use my vast library of ROMS to play with. Also i want to design so some game i can play as landscape mode when require.

where did you find $60 icade as most website i find has price over $100?

Peja:

I can't find it on their site right now, but my local Bed Bath and Beyond had their iCade on clearance for 24.99 this last weekend.......

Maybe I will go back there and buy a few and sell them for a profit on ebay or something.  I didn't realize they were that expenseive!

If you can get a hold of one of these controllers you can build a box for your ipad and mod it for the controls. They are only supposed to cost $25 to $30. I noticed that the reviewer called it an analog controller but it is really a D pad.
