Great TV.  I'm really happy with mine.

The 3D thing is neat for a novelty once or twice but 2D content looks so much better.  If you're looking for some good stuff to watch for free, search for side by side or SBS on youtube.  Then just set the TV to SBS 3D mode.  If you happen to look around "various sources"  for downloadable content, I've had good luck with videos labeled HALF-SBS.  I think the TV can handle FULL-SBS (3840x1080) but I don't have a media player that can handle it.

PBJ, whats wrong with having a tv above a fireplace? Do you keep that space reserved for your family portrait?

I hate looking up that high. My eyes get 'tired' after not very long. So a fireplace could be a waste of space, depending on placement. Or, you decide to put the TV in front of it. At my grandma's, they needed more sitting space, and put a couch there.

I used to run my wires inside the wall, but it is really a pain to add new wires. I have been using these wiremold things for a while now, and it is just way easier. I don't think it looks bad at all, and they can be painted to match the walls if you want.

I like wall mounting because it looks cleaner. It is useless if you have furniture underneath it that will hold the TV, but I am hoping that trend will go away. I have been trying to convince my girlfriend that we don't need to a huge entertainment stand to hold a 360 and DVDs, but so far, no luck.

If you have Amazon Prime, buying TVs is great. Next day shipping for $3.99. :) They also offer a full 30 day guarantee so you can return it for any reason, and they pay the shipping.

Prime's pretty easy to swing if you can find a community college that freely gives away .edu addresses.  You can also say you're an expectant mother and get it for a month.

That is the bedroom TV, so that is the alarm clock. That is the only non integrated clock in the whole house. I just graduated from a University that couldn't even afford to keep .edu addresses for the students. About a year ago, they suggested that we use yahoo or gmail. lol

Actually, I think I still have one through the CSE department, so maybe that will work.
