Well the movies are their own universe, like the classic, ultimates or any of the other comic universes.
So I think they should be looked at as their own.

In Thor, Darcy says how vikings worshiped them as deities, Odin said mankind believed certain worlds were home to their gods and when Dr. Selvig was drunk he said Thor ought to be the god of thunder.

They basically say how people thought them to be gods, but they are more or less just super advanced powerful aliens.

In The Avengers Loki told Hulk he was a god, Hulk proved him wrong, Loki called himself a god a few times, when Thor was thrown from the helicarrier Nick Fury said they lost god, Tony Stark called Thor a demigod and when Thor took the Tesseract the counsel told Fury it wasn't his call and he told them he didn't argue with the god that made the call.

Maybe a few other spots in The Avengers it was used but not in Thor, got them all there.
No one question me on that, I have seen Thor enough times I could write the script and screenplay here.  :laugh2:

You're basically saying what I said.  They are Gods because of how people worshiped them.  I think they explained themselves differently so the humans in the story could better understand it but it doesn't make them any less of a god for it.  Does a God see themself as a god?  Perhaps once they find people worshiping them which the Asgardians had.  Additionally, hulk whooping down on Loki is more relegated to the Hulk being just about the most powerful being on earth aside from the Sentry.  The only person besides the Sentry that can go toe to toe with the Hulk is Thor, and even then when it's an all out brawl common knowledge is the Hulk comes out on top.  Unless we're talking Odin Force before resurrecting Asgard, or Planet Hulk/World War Hulk, etc.

You said this line as though you were complaining.

Can someone clarify what the hell he is talking about?  Are you leaning more to the hulks shirtless muscles????

Those Google Project Glass augmented reality glasses! What a great idea. I ought to patent it. You don't need anything special embedded into the video. Just download the official subs to your augmented reality glasses and it'll overlay the appropriate text over the video.

Looks like someone is working on a variation on this idea.  Pretty cool.

Gray_Area:
So I saw this last night. god I love having a 50" screen at home. I didn't care for going to the theatre anyways. Now I may never ever.

Yeah, there was lots that just happened. Like, as the rainbow bridge is gone, how did Thor get there?  I'm not raising a discussion on that, I'm just referencing it.

So, for some strange reason, I was excited to see this movie. Despite some technical issues and all. If I were 12, and it was Saturday night, and I had a killer home theater an all, I'd be stoked. That's the mind set I was in. And I'd overlook the goofinesses, as I often did at that age watching things like Mighty Orbots, because the rest was cool enough to get immersed in. I totally would've loved for there to be movies of this graphic quality an all back then. I DID want them, and I spent a lot of time imagining them in their stead.

Would it be WAY cooler if they made movies out of things like The Forge of God, and The Reality Dysfunction or The Commonwealth Saga, let alone Hyperion? Indeed.

But in the mean time.....
