And I was in school (i.e., earning no money) for the first four of those years. Prior to her birth my wife and I saw everything that was remotely interesting in the theater. In the five years she's been alive I'd guess I've been to the theater maybe 10 or 12 times and prob 6-8 of those were kids movies. Paying for (or even finding) a babysitter sucks.

I feel ya...I have a 13 year old, a 5 year old and a newborn. Before the first kid, the wife and I went to any movie that looked good. In the last 13 years, I've been to the movies 10 times tops. It has to be reserved for that one very special movie that you know for a fact is going to kick major ass. And usually one of us goes and the other stays home with the kids. (Depends on the movie)

Maybe your company wouldn't have gone bankrupt if it wasn't run by idiots signing contracts like that.

Damn straight.  :applaud: There have been news articles recently about how our executives found a loophole to award themselves millions in bonuses while we are in bankruptcy, and being the ones who put us into bankruptcy in the first place.

--- Quote from: shmokes on May 02, 2012, 07:11:36 am ---I find that the wealthy suffer far more from irrational feelings of entitlement than the poor. Most poor people work super hard for very little. It cracks me up that rich people have successfully framed poor people as spoiled little entitlement queens. Not that Mike is rich (maybe he is, maybe he isn't), but I don't think the welfare thing is a very good barometer for entitlement.

You could be spot on there. I am pretty sure that there are plenty of hard workers and idiots who feel entitled on every pay grade, just what they feel entitled to changes. Maybe my example wasn't the best, but more directly what I noticed from talking to Mike when he talks about his work, he has a good work ethic. When he posts a problem here, it is will the attitude he is going to sort out the ---steaming pile of meadow muffin--- himself and is grateful for any help or advice we can give him. I guess that could be said about a lot of people here, but it is still something I notice.

shmokes:
I don't doubt it. I wasn't maligning his character generally. I'm referring only to his anger over the avengers. I just find it a bit silly. Aside from that Mike's probably Mother ---smurfing--- Theresa.

I saw it yesterday.  I watched the 2D version which was better on my eyes.  I thought the sound was poor, way too loud and it made me cringe (probably due to the upper frequencies), the acting was OK, you could have shelved Thor, Hulk the bow dude and Loki and his amazing Gieger buddies (really?) and just have a Iron Man 3 with Capt America and Black Widow.  Iron Man made it possible with future technology.  This outing was complete "twilight" crap.

But I got my student discount, and a nice seat (cinema nearly all to myself), and it was...... entertainment.  Maybe I'm getting old...

I'd wait for DVD release or at the Budget cinemas, but I wouldn't pay full price to see it.

I give it 6/10.  Joss should know better.

That's just the thing, it's Joss.  He's a hit or miss type of guy and highly overrated in the marvel world.
