Thanks for the tips guys. I tried it on my computer at work today b/c it has Windows 7 and got the same results..
When I inserted the disc, took a long time to load the green bar at the top and when it finally got done making all these noises, nothing happened. Tried right clicking on the drive and Explore and it just spit it out and told me to insert a disc..
I don't know if you guys can tell from the scan but.. (maybe I should have mentioned this earlier) but the bottom of the disc looks funky, it looks almost as if it has a clear layer over the shiny silver.. sorry idk how to explain it but it just looks like there's a layer covering the bottom.
Unfortunately I don't have dual cd drives on my computers.. I mean, my tower is setup for that but it only has one it, I guess I could go get another one if it comes down to that.. lets hope it doesn't b/c at this point I HAVE to see what's on this disc
Anymore ideas..? I guess I'll try looking into the security feature for now and also see if I can find an older computer to try it on. Someone at work suggested that maybe it's one of those 24 hrs discs that erases itself.. not sure if those were even around then.. another suggested that maybe it's one of those discs that can only be opened with certain programs (real player, quicktime, etc..) tried those and no luck

My theory is that the disc has experienced some sort of disc 'rot'. It is more than likely in the last 13-14 years that the disc may not have been stored in the most ideal circumstances, i.e extreme temperature differences between hot and cold. Again just a theory, but it would explain why every single cd or dvd player you have tried netted zero results with what is on the disc.
This article is kinda old, but might give a little insight into what went wrong with your disc :dunno
