Can't burn ISO - okay, this didn't get solved.....

Pretty much sounds like you need to create an environment where you can eliminate variables.  Ala connecting the drive with said CD's to a new computer/using said cd's on same computer with a new drive/using same computer and same drive with different cds.  Mix and match until you find one that consistently doesn't work.

They all consistently don't work. More work than it's been worth. I've never had trouble with discs. I should burn these in a juju pot and pray to the dark gods that no one ever has such issue.
