Hi all, I have a similar cabinet and LCD like the one below and would like to make a bezel. How do I do this? What materials to use etc.??? |

I've come up with a pretty foolproof way to do it using MDF. First, cut your bezel to size so it fits in your cab and covers the already-mounted screen. Mark one side or the other as the outward facing one. Then take an adjustable square, and place the short edge against the edge of the screen as in the picture. Slide the ruler until it touches the side of the cab and lock it into place. Transfer that measurement to the bezel by putting the square against the side and sliding it down with a pencil on the edge of the ruler to mark your line. Repeat for the other 3 sides. This method is quick and makes up for any slight inconsistencies in your monitor mounting. Now you have the lines in the proper space. What I ended up doing was clamping some rulers on the lines and flush mounting it which left nice round corners. Then I beveled the edge. Here's what it ended up looking like. |
