HyperSpin+U360 problem

People on this and Hyperspin forum have noted that the problem is in XP64 and Win 7 (mostly XP64), but I'm curious -- are you using the latest Hyperspin? I'm wondering if it's a problem with 1.2 (not that I'd downgrade just to just joystick support back -- too many other improvements!).
StriderDSO:
I couldn't recall whether I applied the v1.2.0 patch, so I checked the Hyperspin.exe's version and it does indeed say v1.2.0, so I guess that means I did! I don't think I ran the earlier versions before updating, so I've only ever used 1.2, and don't think my joysticks have ever stopped working in the application. Does it only happen to people who use the joysticks encoder?

By "encoder", do you mean the ultrastik software or the harness that hooks up buttons? I actually use a JPAC with no harness on the U360.
I haven't tried updating my U360 in a while. I'll try giving that a shot soon.
8BitMonk:
Sorry to bump an old thread. Has anyone found a solution to using U360's and Hyperspin with 64bit OS's? Mine were working fine until just recently and now I'm having the same issues noted here. Don't really want to go the Xpadder route and reprogram my buttons.
8BitMonk:
I was able to fix mine last night through a little trial and error. I'm not sure if this will work for everyone but it's certainly worth a shot so i thought I'd post a reply.
My U360's only ever worked in Hyperspin when the device ID's were set to 0 and 1 respectively. I couldn't find a way to manually change the device ID's in Windows 7 so I just started experimenting with moving the USB connections to different usb ports on the hub and back of my pc until the P1 joystick was finally 0 and P2 was 1 and now it seems to work fine again. I also set all of the keyboard commands (except Enter and Escape for Start and Exit) to '-' and disabled keyboard delay though I'm not sure this had any affect.
You can easily see which usb ports will give you which id by hooking up a couple joys in addition to the U360's in other ports and hitting Reset ID in HQ and then a button on the joystick. Then you can program up/dn/lt/rt by moving the joystick and test in HS to see what ID's work for you. Also remember to close and reopen Hyperspin after each time you set the ID's in HQ.
Hope this helps.
