Storage Wars Texas: Proof that now even arcade OPERATORS are stupid.

Heh -- Xouchey called someone other than me a Nazi! :droid
FWIW -- I don't think anything was out of line, but was edited and doesn't play well to folks like us. The barcade guy had a nice collection of machines (nicer than pretty much anybody posting in this thread), so it makes sense to assume that he knows what he is talking about. $1200 retail ain't out of line for a 60-in-1, even if it is a tad high in this market.
I was watching Pawn Stars the other day and saw "Big Hoss" pay $1000 for a Bally Odds and Evens, then put $3000 into a resto and, while I am not a pin guy, I looked the machine up in my 2008 Mr Pinball guide and the price was $500.
We are not the market for folks like that and I, for one, wish there were more folks willing to pay so much (especially since I have some spare 48-in-1 boards sitting on my bench)!
As for Xouchey's comments about the xx-in-1 and the effects on dedicated cab pricing -- he is wrong. The 48-in-1 and 60-in-1 cabs have taken the "high margin" (e.g. non-expert) consumer away from the dedicated market and resulted in lower prices (there is a reason why collectors of dedicated machines sell xx-in-1 over dedicated). Every argument that has been made by people who actually sell games (e.g. not Xouchey) about the effects of MAME on the value of dedicated machines applies equally to the 48- and 60-in-1 (especially since they are MAME).

Actually, I bet he did open it up ... even the noobiest noob here wouldn't just plug a machine in blind.
It's the editing people.

while your look at mame is correct, and has driven the market into a downward drive..i must point out that a
normal person is totaly dombfounded,ie lack of know
a collecter know's what they are looking for and there value....
but to put mame up to a real deal is just out of the relm....
and in any account,WHEN DID WE START TO SELL FREE-WARE?

Is somebody wanting to be the new Chad ? >:D
FWIW, I don't think you are off-the-mark (I actually still have a Jakks stick and other parts that I bought to make a minicab a la bishmasterb), but was making the point about the hypocrisy of you constantly demanding proof from others, but expecting us to accept your word as gospel.
You and ark should be locked in a room (without Internet access) together.
