I wouldn't even say that.  He lost his job just before closing and went through with closing. (which involved signing papers saying that the loan app info was accurate)

Hmm... not how I remember it but I'm not slogging through those documents again.

Should be interesting to see how long it takes for his blog tone to switch from upbeat to defeated.  I give it another week or so.

I thought that I would have access to email and the web, and that while removed from my family, I would be able to continue my career while incarcerated.  I had no idea how wrong I was.

While my institution is quite progressive, allowing me access to email and letters, I am not allowed access to the internet in any way.

I assume he's emailing the blog posts to the guy that owns the website.

Isn't that the real prison transition anyway, from ---uvula--- to ---smurfette---? I look forward to the blog entry about his new husband, Rhino.

Who said anything about rape? These days it is usually a voluntary insurance program. Once you're poked, you're protected.

I wish I could tell you that David fought the good fight, and the Sisters let him be. I wish I could tell you that but prison is no fairy-tale world. He never said who did it, but we all knew. Things went on like that for awhile... prison life consists of routine, and then more routine. Every so often, David would show up with fresh bruises. The Sisters kept at him, sometimes he was able to fight 'em off, sometimes not. And that's how it went for Andy...er I mean Dave  - that was his routine. I do believe those first two years were the worst for him, and I also believe that if things had gone on that way, this place would have got the best of him.

"Thanks to a great commissary, we can buy fresh peppers, onions, avocados, tomatoes, chicken, brown rice, bananas, apples and limes. A couple other guys and I have a Sunday night spaghetti with fresh tomatoes, pepperoni and sausage. This week our neighbor made us a great dinner with hummus, peppers, chicken, sausage and cheese, with some pita bread."

He's eating better in prison than I do on the outside.

Anyone else keeping up with his blog?  It's great for spiking your blood pressure.

"I’m lucky that my work day is over by 11am, allowing me to take classes, work out, and enjoy most of the day. I get to work with my friends, and we are always busy so the time flys by. "

"Last night i completed my 42nd book. "

"I have just completed my 50th book since my arrival."

There's got to be a downside to this, right?

I check in every once in a while.  The health updates make me jealous.
I'm here working a stressful sedentary job that's sending me to an early grave and he's spending every day reading, listening to music, and working out.
It sounds like a relaxing atmosphere.

I'm hesitant to believe everything or anything he says.

And you only do two days in prison:  day you go in and the day you come out.

He's in the minimum security "camp" next to the prison.  It's where the wealthy serve their time.
It doesn't even have fences.

I doubt it's as crazy as the guy in the interview says, but I'm sure it's the type of place where you can spend your days reading books and strolling the "campus" without too much worry.

white collar prison is a quite a bit different from blue collar prison.

"Prison Lite" life is like being stuck in a hospital you can't leave. same food, a communal area to watch TV, and so on.

it's a far cry from federal-bang-you-in-the-ass prison. "Cry" the operative word there.

"With 450 men living in tight quarters we have to interact with each other constantly. Building bridges is much more productive than building fences. Someone should reach out to the prison officials and tell them they should use their in-house talent to start up a yoke production line.

Here is what I’ve been busy with during the past 3 months:
Read 72 books
Written 323 letters

Good on ya Dave.

Quote
Lost 48 lbs.

Right on! I could stand to lose some too.

Quote
Spent 554 hours designing new products & writing patents

okay... gotta do something with your time I suppose.

Quote
Written 12 chapters of my book 88 weeks
Written 3 chapters of my book In-Justice

uh oh.

Quote
Completed 2 educational certificates
Started 5 more educational classes

It wasn't "book writing" and the other "product design" was it?

lol, half the Indie authors on Amazon think their 12 page brochure they spent "all weekend working on" is a "book" and wonder why nobody more than their mother is buying it.  More than half the books published never get more than one sale.

.....

Decided I was being too mean.
It's already bad enough we're getting entertainment out of his incarceration.

Honestly I am a bit jealous.  I'm stuck working a job that is killing me while he is someplace where he gets to relax, read books & get in shape.
If he didn't have a family to take care of it would sound like a stress free existence.
