Whoa whoa WHOA. Michael Jackson is NOT overrated! Lady Gaga is Madonna, so that doesnt count. With you on Amy Whinehouse though...

+1 on Mr. Jackson.
Doh't misunderstand, he quickly degraded into insanity and obscurity BUT in the 80's he pretty much invented pop, the "dancing concert" and the music video. And most of his earlier stuff was pretty awesome as well. Of course the bad side to that is that he invented the "dancing concert" and pop music... meaning he's indirectly responsible for all the backstreet kids on the block boys and the britney christinia swifts.

The fact that he molested children makes all of this irrelevant IMO.
ON TOPIC - It will be interesting to see if the cash grab factor outweighs the fact that they couldn't get along. I would not be the least bit surprised to see this tour blow up at some point before it finishes or possibly even starts.

I'm gritting my teeth a little at the thought of the new record after VH III and Balance. of course I'll buy it but time and extreme wealth/comfort/shoe licensing deals have not been kind to Eddie's keen writing and playing edge. The tour now, face it, these guys can blow. Dave's got 95% of the pipes he had, amazingly, and Eddie's got 95% of the chops. He's really got a 100% of the chops, but i'm holding back 5% because his knees don't bend anymore. Compare that to Robert Plant at 40% remaining pipes, although it's unfair because he's a good bit older.

I thought "Me Wise Magic" David Lee did with VH back in '96 was as good or better than almost any of the Van Hagar songs. I'm a big Hagar fan and loved Chickenfoot so I'm not bashing Sammy. There is just something special about Roth with Eddie and I'm real hopeful the CD is great. I am a little concerned Michael Anthony's background vocals will be missed. Dude could hit some high notes.

Me Wise Magic was a great song. Dave jumped the gun on that 'reunion', though. It took another 10 years for it to actually happen.

Nice. I saw Tool back in 2002... so awesome.

This will be my third time (2009, 2010 previously). Probably going to be a similar setlist again, but I don't care. I love their live shows.
