exercise bike xbox 360 controler
muell67:
Like many Im wanting to drop a few pounds and would like to incorporate exercise into video game playing. Has anyone seen a project where someone has converted a stationary bike to be used with motorcycle racing games? I mainly want to get the pedalling to be used for the analog triggers on a hacked xbox 360 contoller for the throttle. Anyone have any ideas on how to do this
Bender:
no, but I like the idea a lot
Hacking the analog controls is tough, haven't heard of anyone successfully doing it yet, but I'm sure it can be done
can you give a little more info on what you'd like to do
I'd be willing to help if I can
I'd like to see the steering done with the handlebars and have the throttle/trigers on there too

This is a pretty cool idea.
Sort of off-topic, but some fun can be had by hooking a dancepad
(like the ones that Kraft was giving away way back) as a 4-way stick
and buttons and playing something like Track-and-Field.
Also makes Pac-Man more interesting too.

I really liked this idea, and did a little more searching and found the Cyberbike for the wii $200 for the bike and software and it is supposed to work with any racing game that uses the traditional controller (gamecube)
But what I really wanted was one for the PS3 or 360
I found out that the same company makes one for the PS3 (bluetooth no less) but it hasn't been released stateside yet, we found it on the german amazon site for $182 us shipped (pretty good) and it should arrive by the end of january, I'll report back then **crossing fingers** hope it comes through undamaged, it too is supposed to work with any racing game

Wasn't there a 90's prop cycle arcade game? Possible mame tie in?
