Can't wait to tell my grandkids!!!

Nobody said anything about attempting to inject other roms. I guess I am somehow supposed to take offense to this. Then again, we all know your demeanor on these forums, comes up in all of your posts. Maybe you should come back and join this thread with some meaningful discussion when you have something  more intelligible to write about in the conversation that involves more than one brain cell.  ;)

Be sure to tell that to the grandkids as well.

I think that was a knock at me, which is unfortunate.  Most of my old work goes unnoticed because at this point the wii scene has moved on to third party emulators, and I won't get into what I am and am not responsible for for legal reasons, but rest assured, it isn't just injecting roms into wads.  And if you knew what a nightmare it is for a few of the VC emulators, you wouldn't take rom injecting so lightly either.

just to side track since that's what everyone does nowadays...

does anybody else think the amount of ads on the xbox360 menus a little ridiculous? I mean i paid for it, and i buy the games, why are there ads on it?

If i download free software i'll put up with ads, if i want them gone, i'll buy the software. isn't that how it's supposed to work?

let's boycott Microsoft for making me look at ads on a system I paid for. what's next, pausing halfway through COD to make me watch a Toyota Yaris ad?!  :soapbox:

I agree 100%.  I also agree with what pbj is talking about as well.  They recently added a youtube app to the 360, for example.  Now I thought... "cool!  I can watch old shows and stuff for free from my xbox!"  So I fired it up and it says I need a gold subscription.  Why?  I mean last time I checked toutube doesn't connect to microsoft's servers, it connects to the internet... I pay for the internet seperately.  So why do I need a gold account to connect to the internet again?  And they can't say that it's a microsoft policy either because UbiSoft games get around this via their UPlay service for free dlc.

That being said, I think in the scheme of giant rip-offs we've got bigger fish to fry.  I pay for cable and yet every channel has ads on it.  Lots of people pay a subscription for tivo, which is a glorified vcr when there is no reason that the tivo box needs to connect to tivo's servers to work.  Since the digital conversion all channels broadcast their lineup via the extra bandwidth.... so a schedule of shows is now freely available.  Not only that, but modifying a tivo to use such a free service would be considered illegal.

Long story short, companies are always trying to screw us.  I guess we just need to pick our battles.
