Laptop freezing

(1/3) > >>

hypernova:
Seems my laptop likes freezing every so often.  Seems to happen more when it's under a small load.  Generally happens most often when wife's on youtube, or even when I'm downloading something large.

HDD or something else?

404:
under load? make sure the vents to your laptop are clean, especially the cpu vent. Then use coretemp or realtemp to see if the cpu temp is higher than what it should be.

emphatic:
From time to time, turn it off then put your vacuum cleaner to the fan exhaust. I do this every time my laptop go slow on me and sometimes dust bunnies are pulled out.  :-\

Vigo:
Some things culprits I have encountered:

Some lame system process or services taking up resources
Uploading from computer
Computer Virus
Bad graphics drivers
overheating
faulty RAM memory

hypernova:
I've had a temp monitor (speedfan) and it's not going too high.
No virus or malware issues.  Run AVG

Other than switching them out, how could I check the HDD, RAM, or even the CPU?
