I thought that might be it, but it didn't look like P1's stick was that close to the corner.

I may have missed this in the thread, but what's the purpose of the curved cuts in the t-molding of the left corner of the CP box?

its to allow clearance for the sticks when the lid is closed.
Does that mean there was in fact a flaw when building this cab?

Thank God, I was worried you guys weren't human.

Such a nice blue wiring job and then I see the ugly power supply and accompanying cable mess. Why don't you use a decent modular power supply? Modular means you can remove all those wires that you are not using. Just as an example:

Nice to see you making a second cab, i can see you learned from version 1. its more in proportion now.

just make sure your hdd istn mounted directly to the mdf, it will make loud noise, and those small fans make pitch sounds, maybe replace them with 1 big one..
like the back and lights!

Any particular reason you went with such a large gauge wire?

Uuuuhhh... I've been following this build for a bit, and I think you've really succeeded with what you were going for, a modernized Space Invaders. Hafta say I was skeptical, but... :notworthy:

I'm about to start painting my cab and your black sections look perfect. What kind of paint did you use and how many coats. Any additional magical painting tips would be great too.

I'd love to see a cocktail table next. :)

paint.... i'll have to get back to you on brand.... i'll have a look at the tins......

two coats with a brush..... 3rd with a roller...... lets it go tacky and go over it again with the roller (gives a texture effect)

Very well done, jahilton2002. I like the design for the joystick and buttons, and the colors you chose for them blends in very well with the rest of the cabinet. I'm looking for a cooling fan or two for the MAME cabinet that me and my father are using. What type did you use for your Space Invades cabinet?

Thank you. That will be a great help with the assembly of my own MAME cabinet. I was referred to this section for looking to see how other people have applied cooling fans to their PC, so your thread has been a major help. Thank you again.

Newegg has some cheaper 4 packs of 120mm fans.

Not meaning to threadjack.  I'm loving the inside of your cab by the way.  It reminds me of an expensive server rack, something that you would see being prototyped in a cleanroom somewhere.  You expect fog to pour out from your liquid nitrogen cooling.  Pretty amazing stuff. :notworthy:

Thank you for the link, those fans look like they would work for my project. Anyhow, good job on the cabinet. Space Invaders is one of my favorite arcade games as well.

gotta say it is a fantastic cab.you should go into business with your uncle.watched your videos yesterday and it looks even better (if that's possible) than in the pics. noticed your'e from england and would be interested where you got your artwork printed and what sort of price you paid (if it's not been too cheeky  :)  )
