3d tvs are a fad, you should avoid them.  When they came out with 3d tvs my first thought was "wow they must be DOUBLE 1080p resolution because the screen would have to be interlaced for the 3d effect"  then I did some research and found out that in 3d mode they actually run at 1080i and I thought "wait, couldn't they just show that on a standard tv?"

Guess what, they more or less can.  Games like Batman Arkham city and AC: Revelations are already experimenting with 3d modes for 2d televisions.  One is to use colored glasses which are a step up from the old ones, but still a little clunky.  Another that AC: revelations is trying is to simply double the screen in software mode allowing you to use polarized glasses for the 3d.

My guess is in a year or so this polarized method will be fairly standard for the major video game releases and that is a much cheaper method to get 3d.  Polarized glasses do a pretty darn good job as well, in fact some of the 3d tvs actually use a similar method.

Regardless, 3d games in which the 3d is actually used to enhance gameplay is in it's infancy.  I would hold on to my money if I were you.

--- Quote ---Sure,  just drink a 2 litre bottle of cola or whatever, sit down and try to sit through the movie for 2.3 hours without going to the can.

That's my IMAX experience, and my last.

Doesn’t sound very logical. Hmmmmmm

Logical explanations:

* IMAX employees strap the moviegoer into their seat and force 2 liters of soda into him/her.
* Moviegoer exhibits some combination of psychoses that compel him/her to drink excessively and then prevent him/her from getting up in the middle of a movie.
* Aliens?
* Simple Human Stupidity
