I finally got my new Demolition Man all shiny and reconditioned - and it plays fantastic! But I've got some questions I'm hoping other DM owners can answer. (I posted the same questions on rec.games.pinball)

- Occasionally on startup, the pin indicates an error on both the
flipper button switches (on the cab, not the trigger buttons). But the
buttons seem to work fine. If I run the switch edge tests, nothing
fails.

- When using the cryo-claw, occasionally neither release button (left
or right thumb buttons on the triggers) will work. When this happens,
if I press both the trigger buttons, the ball will drop. So I move the
claw left and right to the ramp I've selected, press thumb button -
ball does not drop, then pull both trigger button and the ball drops -
weird. Most times the thumb buttons work perfectly. No big deal, but
wondering if anyone has thoughts on the cause.

- I find when shooting the left loop, often the ball does not drop
into the extra ball / multi ball capture hole (behind the center
ramp). Rather it just bounces out. I'd day it's 50/50 the ball will
actually drop into the hole. Is this normal or is there an adjustment
I can make. The loop rail and one-way gate all seem aligned correctly.

- Is it normal for the auto-plunger launch to randomly stop at the top
(dropping into M-T-L) rather than continue around the loop to the
upper left flipper (for the skill shot)? It almost seems like the
machine is altering the coil voltage to randomly change the strength
of the launch (but that seems unlikely).

- And speaking of the M-T-L lanes, what does MTL stand for? I've
watched the movie and cannot find any reference to that acronym. I
would have used MDK - murder/death/kill. I wonder if that was the
original intent but was rejected?

Thanks for helping with any of these questions!

Thanks for the answers! I just purchased a set of Torx Security bits so I can open the handles and clean the switches. I did actually bend the one-way gate leading into the drop hole to see if that would reduce the bounce out. What actually seems to happen is the ball bounces off the right side wall of the enclosure. Someone on rec.games.pinball suggested putting some foam or felt on that spot to reduce the bounce. But for now I'll just leave it as is - makes the game a bit harder!

One other question - that top center trap is suppose to score a mystery value (when extra ball / multi-ball is not lit) but all I ever get is hold bonus and occasionally add bonus multiplier. I've never received any of the other awards? Very strange.
