<< < (6/8) > >>

SNAAKE:
newegg is selling 60" zenith plasma for 900. great deal if I actually had the room lol..

anyway I have some questions about 3d tvs. hopefully random people around here drop some random knowledge. I never even seen one of these 3d tvs in person before. not sure what to expect.

- is $784(after tax..damn) shipped for a 46" full HD good price? this one.
http://shop.panasonic.com/shop/model/TC-P46ST30

- I dont care about any fighting game input lag. this will be for movies, random xbox/ps3 gaming. now how good are ps3 3d games?

- ps3 can play 3d blurays(and "obtained" movies) just fine? I dont feel like buying a bluray player(my wallet is already pwnt lol) just to have the newest technology.

any other info anyone can post. go ahead. thanks in advance!!

I just bought a 47" 3d TV for $900 that included a 360 slim and a game.  So $784 for 46" is okay, but you can probably do better between now and christmas.

But I wouldn't pay extra for 3D.  It's still not worth it.  You'll lose some color, and either resolution or frame rate (or sometimes both).  I haven't seen a game or movie that's better in 3D.  It's just a cool novelty for an hour or two.

@SNAAKE:
This is a spot on observation.  Buy a TV which has a great 2D image, as that is what you will be watching 99% of the time.  Worry about 3D afterward, if you really want it.

That being said, the Panasonic plasmas are among the best (I own 3), so I don't think you would be disappointed in the performance of the model you are looking at.

SNAAKE:
yeah I am very happy with my 42" 720p panasonic. thats why I am not even considering other brands now. and I checked all the prices, its $95 less for the 46" without 3d. Id rather have it.

anyway so where do I get the glasses? any 3d glasses work..like the those "real3d" glasses from movie theaters? or I gotta buy it from panasonic. I can only guess they are expensive lol..

maybe random knockoffs from ebay work too??

They are.  Try these.

The movie theater type won't work.
