| What will a cap kit fix? |
| (1/1) |
| honkey:
If a monitor turns on but only displays a horizontal line, does that sound like something that just needs a new cap kit? What other problems could it be? |
| CheffoJeffo:
It might be ... or it could just be a cold solder joint ... or some other stuff ... I prefer Randy Fromm's stuff, but this isn't bad and is free: http://www.arcaderepairtips.com/2011/04/07/repairing-monitor-collapse-issues/ |

A cap kit is typically a good start because they're fairly easy and chances are they can use a replacement. You have a vertical deflection problem. This can be due to certain caps being bad but it can also be due to a bad vertical output transistor or ic. What kind of monitor |
