Thanks Ed.  Not sure if it needs to be cleaned because when PGA boots up I get the error message.  When I go into the PGA computer I can see the card in Device Manager so not sure what to do next.

hi
ok that answer's alot
did u re-load it ?
if so with the orignal s/w ? >there is a reason for that question<
is the reader the orignal ?
as the usb olny came in later rev 3.5 and 4
before that it was a serial unit
u can tell by the open port on the i/o board
where the reader would plug in
then the mfg of the board went up a rev and fourced all to the usb side of thing's
and that is where it get's stickey
if u are using a 4 port usb card
get rid of it with rev 3.5/4 as it is not needed
3.4 require's it as it is the change over s/w
the patch is 4kb or such
and is junk and  i will not even post it
if it is a early rev of the game
>menu/game-setup/rev<
dongle will tell u really what it is >3/3.4/4< canada/usa
in the usa it is a sub like 4.5 or 3.7 or such
if u do not have the proper dongle it will give u card reader error's
hence the reason i moved to ditch it

now u can c where my question's are going
read the post over a few time's
DO NOT SKIP A POINT

Well the tower I have does have 4 USB ports but they are in separate locations (two on the bottom and 2 in the upper portion of the computer).  Do you think I should reinstall the game?  I don't mind doing that but it will be depressing losing all of our stats and scores.  Thanks for taking the time this afternoon to help!

hi
hmm cant ever rem seeing a 2 port pcima card ?
they come as 2/4/6/8
but we used 4 port
the 2 on the back of the tower are usb 1
the card is for faster reading usb2
but for all intensive reason's is usless to us as the i/o mfg never fully coded into it
ie >usb2< they stuck with >usb1<
hence the reason i tell ppl to ditch it
now u got this tower as a complete running unit ?
with it's proper disk's ?
if so how many less the rescue disk ?
and on the rescue disk EXACTLEY what is printed COMPLETLEY
this way i can ref my libary and tell u what reader/i/o/usb config u should have
as from what u are telling me from what i can deduce to date is u bought a running unit, did u get the origanl card reader?
if not please tell me the s/w rev..the rescuse disk will do that for me

My mistake Ed.  It looks like I have two USB ports toward the top and one USB port towards the i/o card under the VGA port.

hi
from your pic i c 2 usb's on the tower
this make's it rev 3/3.5 era
from the lower part of the pic i c 2 usb card's?
as a rule i run the i/o usb right into 1 of the tower's usb port's >unless they are trashed<,at which point i will ditch the mobo
as it will give problem's in a short date of time
plug the card reader right into 1 of the tower's port's
it should pick it right up after a reboot
if not test the port's
:bios: make sure they are enabled
because if they are out so is the conxit chip set
the t10 >lan< should also be enabled
and u should as pre 1 of my post's beable to goggle with the putter
if not !!!!trash the board!!!,i can not get any clearer
from your pic i see wrong routing
is the i/o plugged into another usb card ?
if so u are confiliting the interuptes
the i/o card is ment to plug into a usb port on the tower :main usb's: not a usb card
as it's input call's are usb1 based
usb2 is simply to fast for it

live un-plugged i cannot touch on..it's a hack of it's gamming >dealer here<
about the same with silver strike/buck hunter about anything expect for pre gt-live
before that i have full okie dokie

So I reconnected the USB per your instructions and the card reader error still shows.  When I go into BIOS the USB ports are enabled.  So you think it's not a driver issue?

The card readers aren't working on my "Challenge" tower either as I get then "No Card Reader" error upon boot. Any idea where an can order a couple replacements? I'm thinking they may just be bad for some reason.

Ed, I did every test that I could understand that you requested and nothing worked.  I tried the card readers in another tower to see if it would solve the problem and it didn't.  I can check to see what version of Team Challenge I am running tomorrow.  Thanks for taking the time to help on this.  Have a good night.

hi
spitfire
that is the actual bad word script..ie forbidden
unless u add them to the good word's script
see my point ?

the .bin i up-loaded is for the actual sign,so u can edit the .bin and reload it to the eprom of the sign

the c++ code is the driving code for the sign

Hi Ed,
Ahhh ok my sign just displays betabrite advertising but now PGA stats ads etc. it doesn't even see the sign diagnostic test. Lilshawn is sending me a new cable to see I that makes a difference? Do you think I don't have the drivers on my version of team challenge or do u think the cables the issue?? Or do you have another reason why I'm having this issue?

Ed,

Without having my original install disks for Team Challenge what is the easiest way to find out what version I'm running to help us identify the proper drivers for the card reader?

OK, so is there info I can relay to you from the dongle?  I'm not following, sorry.

Also, that Rescue disk you uploaded to Dropbox a while back was incomplete as it was only 8mb in size.  The Rescue that I have up there now is from an original Rescue from Team Challenge and is complete.

The outside of my dongle says:

H4 M1  5.0
EMMMQ  204883

Don't really see how to decase the dongle and it makes me nervous to try because if I damage it it's going to cost me $139 to have it replaced by Global VR until the dongle bypass is released.  Does that help at all?

hi
stpcore

ya
>H4 M1  5.0<
rev 5 software
the lastest for usa
we stopped at 4.5
easy as it get's canadian=odd
usa = even
so with that info in hand your card reader should be usb style
no light's xico mo1002 >v< = verison 84 or higher
u should have a 20 pin dip in place of the 40 pin atmel mirco
your drivers's should be on disk 1 and three
these do not need an enabler so there should not be any on your rescue disk
let me chk my 1-4's and find them for u

Hi Ed,
I have come across some PGA towers and am looking to move forward and update them.  I know you have been working extremely hard in getting software ready to release so we can truly unlock the potential of these games.
Can you give us an update on where things stand please?  I was reading a bit here and it seemed like things were just about ready, but maybe I was mistaken.  Thanks in advance, and a bigger thank you for your time, expertise, and dedication on this project.  Hope to hear soon.

hi
dirt yes it is a complete game, plug and play, enjoy

 fg5736
un-named the proffer for me is just fixing a bug i found
the nick found a few more in the trace route
so from the last piece of up-date the nick was thinking the latter part of this week
what ppl have to understand to test the code it must be loaded and used
and if there is a bug u re-format fix and do it over again, glad it is that nick doing it
as i would have smashed something by now
but i know the nick's work as we have worked toghter in far move complex problem's then this,un-named even laughed at me when i said i have this h-key issuie, until the trace route found the full bug.
and as i said i will not realse s/w that will give and or could be blamed for damaging anything...

Ed,
Thanks.  I understand about the bugs...glad to hear that you aren't going to release something that will crash and cause us all grief.  We all probably would be smashing something ;D. Looking forward to hearing the good news and we will be ready to download very soon.  I'll keep checking here.....thanks!
