EDIT: However the GameCube to N64 adaptor is very interesting... Considering purchasing it. Very good idea :)

I disagree. with a 4nes4snes, you can use up to 4 controller ports with one usb cord and a 20 dollar chip.  There is no way retrousb is cheaprer if you are using more than one controller.

Same goes for Genesis and SMS because you can get a db9 chip with a multitap and hook four up that way.

As for the rest of the systems, raphnet and retrousb are similar priced.

Forgot to mention, if you are doing a N64 to USB, use the may flash adapters.  You get 2 n64 ports for about 20 bucks.
Mister Hat:
I'm doing two ports per each of the systems I posted. I don't just want as many ports possible, just two each...

EDIT: Can someone just post links then? I'm not really sure what you're wanting me to get.

The 4nes4snes would allow you to hook up 2 nes and 2 snes controllers with one chip, and one USB cable for $20CAD.  But you need basic soldering skills, and would have to buy the matching nes and snes extension cables (which can be found cheap enough on the internet) as he doesn't sell this as a premade adapter.

Use this for n64 http://www.play-asia.com/paOS-13-71-6m-49-en-70-3d9o.html

use 4nes4snes for 2 nes and 2 snes ports.... get the extension cables on ebay for the ports

use db9 for genesis and get a multiap on ebay for the ports

for everything else, its going to be about 26 bucks per port.  good luck finding cheaper.
