Drnick:
Well I finally got round to reading this book. It was fairly well written but I didn't really feel anything for the characters. I think it could have done with being quite a bit longer, maybe more gates would have been a good Idea. I really enjoyed a lot of the references made throughout the book. Hopefully the film can find a good way of recreating stuff like the interactive movie scenes. |

It has a lot of fun references that people enjoy reading about, but ultimately it's a lot of flash with no real substance. |
Slippyblade:
It was a pulp novel. Enjoyable read, but definitely not something that will be written about 30 years from now. If you were alive in the 80's, read it. Otherwise, probably not. |

I've read it twice, I'd probably reread it again, but it's not the life-changing piece of literature some make it out to be. |

In true 80s fashion, the author turned out to be a one hit wonder. |
