More durable joysticks?

I've had my arcade for about a month(maybe) and I've gone through two U360 controllers already. It seems the always fail moving to the right, second one failed tonight.  The arcade gets moderate use, maybe 1-2 hours a day at best.  Is it me, bad luck or are these joysticks not made to take this much abuse?

mgb:

I can't really say anything good or bad about the u360s, as I have never tried them. But I have noticed a few people now complaining about this and similar issues.
It just seems a bit odd. I guess it would be bad enough to have these issues with $20 sticks but the u360 are much more expensive than that.

I have contemplated swapping out to these but I'm gonna stick with my Sanwa JLWs, which are very durable.

Jack Burton:

I've never used the U360s, but going by the opinions on this board I think they're supposed to last a lot longer than a month.  They're based on sanwa joysticks, and those can last for years with proper care.

How rough are you with your joysticks?  Do you have little kids playing on them?

I think you just got some faulty sticks.  Might want to contact Ultimarc and see if you can get replacements.

lordnacho:

I have a u360, haven't put it to much use yet.  So this is a bit scary to hear.

I've read some people need to realign the magnet in the base, have you done that?
Have you taken it apart at all?

TOK:

If you're not getting 10 years out of home use sticks, something isn't right! I've never had U360's, but I have never had to replace a stick that I bought new (Happ Comp, Suzo Inductive, Sanwa JLW and others).
