That damn picture keeps coming up and its never properly credited or referenced. That's a WIP photo, the actual cab does appear different with custom artwork and good ol' lead last-you-until-the-second-coming paint.

I think the dude makes cakes now.

I know this cab has come up alot but it really fits what the op is asking so I thought it was fitting.

I read the NES cabinet site a few months ago and it reminded me of my boyhood Atari concept.  A few months back when I was looking for plans I stumbled onto this one:    (Plans available at: http://www.gcwoodworks.com/video_game_cabinet_woodworking_p.htm). 
This would make a great April Fools' joke in the imaginary byoac magazine.
Well Fed Games:
I would like to make an Atari 5200 based cabinet, but to actually capture the feel of the system I would need to write a script or something to make the joysticks only work some of the time. Ah, the things you don't notice as a kid.
