Anyone here affected?

Ginsu Victim:
It's been so dry here in Oklahoma. We've had a wildfire burning for almost a week in the Wichita mountain range. Lots of people have lost their homes, and it got so out of hand we had to bring in wildfire experts from California to help, but the terrain and vegetation is almost foreign to them.

popsicle:
Sister in law had to vacate from Magnolia (about an hour north of Houston).  Fires were burning a mile or two from their house.  Don't we deserve some dry weather down here without the threat of being burned alive?  Sheesh.

Yeah Australia is prone to this as well as you can imagine. If it's not a drought, it's a flood. Then with the droughts come fires. Something interesting about droughts I didn't appreciate until I moved to a drought affected state- the ground gets so dry, it shrinks somewhat. And then building foundations shift, damaging buildings. You shoulda seen the cracks in the walls in the place I'm living in! Fixed now.

Didn't see any more news about the US fires tonight.
