best examples of trackball games are Centipede and Missile Command.

Don't forget Marble Madness.    :applaud:

As for the spinner games, there's also Warlords, and other games that utilise a spinner in conjunction with other controls such as Tron, DOT, and Forgotten Worlds.

oh yeah, you can't forget Marble Madness, one of the best

Actually I've seen Marble Madness mentioned a few times and made note of it heh.

A follow up question I have is whether a spinner is typically positioned like a joystick, in that you use your left hand for it, and the right hand for the buttons, or is it like a trackball where you typically use your right hand, and left for any buttons? (I am assuming a right-handed individual).

Thanks again.

Well, I am assuming that I can use the player 1 buttons for the track/spinner, right? If that's so, I was going to put the trackball on the right (so center of CP), and then the spinner on the left of 1UP buttons.
mgb:
Yeah, in mame, you can set it up to use which ever buttons you want.
I prefer to use my right hand for the spinner and left for the buttons. depending on where your spinner is on the cp, you can setup in each game to use your plyr 1 buttons for play or even your ply 2 buttons.
