Joystick's Right Direction Problems..
Lowell45:
So I just finished my first cabinet and was ready to celebrate  when I discovered that the Player 2 joystick's right direction has a problem. It seems like it fires only when i release the right direction of the joystick. So for example when playing mortal kombat: If I am player two and i want to move backwards and i move the joystick to the right, it does nothing until i release the joystick. I checked the wiring and double checked the wiring and they are all wired to NO and GRD properly. My joysticks and controls are running thru an IPAC4. I hooked a seperate usb keyboard to the computer and the Player 2's right direction works fine when using the keyboard. All other joysticks work properly it is just player 2 that is messed up. Could this be a problem with the IPAC? Has any1 else had this problem? Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Ohh, I hate that feeling when you think everything is done....then something comes up and ruins it all.
I'd start simple, it could easily be that the switch is bad. Try connecting a different switch to the 2nd player right. Hopefully that switch will work fine, and you will know you just need to fix or replace the dud switch on your joystick.
If it does turn out to be the ipac4, then i am guessing you have at least a couple unused slots....maybe you could just wire the joystick right control to something like player 4, button 8...and then remap your emulators to the new control.

Check your grounds, check you have wired to 'normally open' and not 'normally closed' and make sure it isn't the key that is configured to be the 'switch' key for the ipac. The last is probably the most likely.

You're using an IPAC. Is the button set to be one of the IPAC shift buttons? They only 'fire' when released.

The switch is wired wrong. You have the N.C. terminal wired in instead of the N.O. Switch it to the other one....
