So after lurking around here for a bit and getting ideas I'm started my first build.  I'm working off of LuSiD's plans and modifying them as needed.

Running 1st & 2nd player with 7 buttons and then 4 buttons for 3rd & 4th players.  The display is going to be a 26" Vizio LCD TV that i have laying around. Heres a link to the TV I'm going to use.

After getting a late start last night, here's where I'm at so far.

Only issue so far is that on paper the 7th button felt good but now that I have a hole there I think peoples thumbs might be hitting it.

Got the fluch mounts and sticks mounted.  I got 3 mounted before i realized that player #4's "up" wouldnt be up because i had the stick indexed incorectly.

By about 11:00 pm last night I was this point.

I'll start on the main part of the cab tonight.

UPDATE:
So after a long wait and a LOT of work in one night she's finished

The Cab and panel complete and ready for paint.

Off to paint...  I didn't want a bunch of over-spray in my shop so I took it to a buddies that doesn't mind a little Black Satan over-spray on his floor.

Primer on the filler

Paint going on...

and the first game is played, of course its Joust.

Good start so far. What's the theme/color scheme?

If you're planning on using a plexiglass top for your cp, you can just omit the thumb button and you'll never know it's there.

Thanks Louis,  I plan to test run the CP and find out if that button is going to be an issue.  I never thought about putting Plexi on there to cover it up.  The theme is going to be black, with a custom marquee saying "Shady MacCheyne."  I'm building it for myself and a buddy.  We both do competitive shooting and won the state championships in our divisions so i was going to put some of our stage layouts with a copy of our placards.

If you're going LCD, that Lusid cab was shaped for a CRT and has a lot of depth that you don't need.  I would consider making it shallower.

I didnt think about that, thanks. I'll probably shave like 2 or 3 inches off the depth.  This will help because the CP is larger than the one in the plans.

ETA: Update in OP.
