On my local Cragislist a guy is selling a Sega Turbo sit-down game for $100. I just discovered the wonderful world of arcade building, and my goal is to make a 2-4 player cabinet. Is it possible to do with this game? E.g. part it / modify it Or is it just a good buy regardless? Thanks in advance! |

Well, if it's the sit down game I'm seeing when I looked it up, I have a difficult time imagining how you'd make it a 2 much less 4 player game. But, if the cabinet's in good shape, and you have room for a large sitdown like that, 100$ seems like a fairly good deal to me. |

Well I guess Im wondering if I could re-use the driving components and more important, if the monitor could be re-used? ??? |

Oh, so 100$ gets you a working game? Hmm, if that's the case, sure you could probably reuse some of the components (esp the monitor if it's still in good shape. But there are also a lot of collectors interested in those kinds of cabs (esp if they're still in decent shape, and definitely if they're still working). You might pick it up for 100$, clean it up, give it a gentle restore and resell it to a collector, the use the cash to buy a gutted cabinet. If the boards are still in it, you might donate them to the Mame team also (if they need them). |
