Regarding snapshots / screenshots
« on: June 28, 2002, 04:48:22 pm »
Okay a couple questions about snaps:

1. Where do I download the entire 0.60 collection of screenshots BESIDES Mame32QA.  I hate the screenshots he has on that website.  They have this big stupid white border around every one of them.  I can't seem to find any site that offers a full set of screenshots besides this one.  The way, I want ingame screens, not titles please.

2. I am guessing that any website that is offering screenshots like Mame32qa, is only offering the screenshots for the parent games...not clones.  Is there any quick way to take each parent games' screenshot and copy it and rename it properly for every clone game for every single game?  I'd like the screenshot to show up for every game including clones...not just parent games.

3.  Does anyone know where to get full sets of console screenshots?  Like Sega Genesis, SNES, NES, TG-16 etc...?

Thanks

I know what you mean....

I spend a bit of time adding to frontend the ability to say remove 8 pixels around that image for screenshots.

is it an 8 pixel boarder on every single on of them?

If that is the case, I have some batch image processing tools I might be able to use to get rid of all the borders in one fail swoop.

CrashTest (http://crashtest.retrogames.com/) has in-game and title snaps that are unaltered and the correct aspect ratio.  These are the one's I use.  Perhaps this is what you are looking for?  I'm not sure if there are marquees or other gfx there for download, though.

I believe that oNyX (http://www.mameworld.net/cabinets/) has been maintaining the marquee archive since Eldio's hiatus.  I haven't heard if Eldio will take back the marquees since his return to the scene earlier this week.

You can try http://www.arcadeathome.com. Their site is popup-happy, but not bad. Check out the 'Front-Ends' link on the left, they have .56 as a base and some upgrades.
