Cab Size Naming Standards: ie what size is a Full, Mini, Micro or Nano Cab?
(1/2) > >>
vcoleiro1:
There has been a lot of cabs built of various sizes but there does not seem to be any naming convention for them.  Anything smaller than full size is just referred to as Mini which has been used to described 3/4 scale cabs down to 1/8 scale cabs like Benders Donkey Kong.

I propose we have some naming standards (if its possible - if not this post will highlight it).  Below are my first cut at some naming standards for uprights, please feel free to add your comments and ideas on cab size's and there names.

Full Size: A cab built to original cab specs or a cab built to over 51" Tall

Mini: 12" - 51" Tall

Micro: 5" - 12" Tall

Nano:  Anything up to 5" inches tall

I don't think a naming convention matters much. Do you think Bender should have to call his DK cab a nano cab cause you say its a nano even though he thinks its a Micro? what about a cabaret? Whats a bartop? If I make a cab that lays down flat and is only 3 inches tall , is it a Nano even though it has a 20" monitor?

I don't think a fixed naming convention is really needed.   Just something more to argue about in my opinion.   What if someone wants to call their nano cab and itty bitty cab  ;D ;D

In the perfect world, such an offense would be punishable by ban. Justice would be swift and unforgiving.

Does this qualify as "full size"?
